Vassiliki Lefkada

The village of Vassiliki is fairly small and still retains a lot of its older buildings. The bay is wide and sheltered but is noted for the afternoon winds that blow off the land and, with the comparative shallowness of the sea, make ideal conditions for windsurfing.
The sight of hundreds of windsurfers speeding across the water is most exciting, even if you are not a fan of this sport yourself.

The area around Vassiliki is undulating and makes ideal conditions for cycling and walking.

The traditional style of buildings, so typical in Lefkada Town is very striking in Vassiliki.

During the afternoon, the off-shore breezes create a perfect setting for windsurfing.

The beach of Vassiliki is mainly sandy, and gently shelving.
At the south of the village, a short walk away, is the beach of Agiofili.

Vassiliki still retains its traditions of fishing and the small harbour has a brightly painted collection of fishing boats, bringing in the morning catch - ready to be served at one of the water-side tavernas.

There is a very pleasant harbour front area with a selection of cafes, restaurants and even ice cream shops. There are several bars and one disco.

As with other villages in Lefkada, there is a wide choice of accommodation in Vassiliki to rent. Close to the beach are some excellent hotels. Opposite the road are some apartments and above the villas private villas with pools to rent.
